D is for Daniel celebrates the life of Father Daniel Berrigan. It contains richly colored portraits of Daniel Berrigan with his brother Phil Berrigan, Dorothy Day, Thomas Merton, and Martin Luther King, Jr. A central question is “What else could be done to bring Christ’s peace to earth?” This compact children’s book introduces Daniel Berrigan’s teaching, Plowshares action, work with AIDS patients, and other activism with friends and family throughout his long life.

Rosie Davila was inspired to illustrate this book while in high school, after hearing stories told by Fr. John Dear. Then Rosie asked her mom to write this little book. The influence of Daniel Berrigan’s example continues to inspire adventures in the striving to “Make your life fit into the life of Jesus.”

Rosie Davila is a junior at the University of Kentucky, majoring in Psychology. An illustrator of several books on nonviolence, Rosie enjoys painting and reading in her free time, and she loves her job with Pace e Bene as a youth intern. She lives on a farm in Kentucky with her family.
