Action Week Day in Review: September 20
Reports are pouring in now — keep them coming! Gearing up for a big weekend and we can’t wait to share the fruits of your labors.
In Reno, NV, Rita Sloan reports: “Interactive questions for the audience of 85 people began in the evening. Then the PBS docu-drama, The Sultan and the Saint, was shown. This year marks the 800th anniversary of the meeting of Saint Francis of Assisi and Sultan Al-Kamil of Egypt during the time of the crusades, a remarkable example of change and understanding through encounter. After the film, the audience interacted with the multi faith panel.”
Tim Dewane of Elm Grove, WI shares, “Women religious (School Sisters of Notre Dame) joined with students from two schools and area residents for a public prayer for peace - our 16th consecutive year! The highlight of the prayer was the four thoughtful and inspiring student reflections challenging us to take action to address climate change and promote peace. 250 people attended.”
William Bromer of Joliet, IL writes, “We joined with local Catholic Universities and other Catholics for a prayer service before the march. Then we joined thousands of youth to march through the streets of Chicago requesting an end to the violence against creation.”
