The coronavirus pandemic has devastated communities world-wide, but it has also opened up incredible opportunities for social movements to push for progressive change. However, many of the traditional ways that movements leverage power – protests, demonstrations, mass actions -are not currently available to us. So how have movements been responding?
Join scholar and author Erica Chenoweth as she shares various methods of nonviolent action that have been emerging worldwide in the context of the crisis, and how states have been responding to them. She will also be sharing her discoveries about how the capacity of people power to effect change during these times can also have long-term consequences.
