Soul of Nonviolence - Grounding in Practicality

In this episode, Veronica reads a quote from Gandhi about the practical applications of nonviolence in daily life. She goes on to discuss win-win situations and how changing your perspective about opponents can bringing resolution without enmity.

Veronica then explains CLARA, a five-step process for nonviolent engagement. The five steps are:

  • Centering

  • Learning your truth

  • Articulate your truth

  • Receive the other’s truth

  • Anchoring/Accomplishing—putting the two truths together

As Gandhi says, everyone has a piece of the truth. And by utilizing Clara, we can honor our own perspective and that of another person while working towards resolution where everybody wins. So take a few deep breaths, tune in, and invite nonviolence into your daily interactions.

Thanks for listening and helping to build a culture of peace and nonviolence.

One who is possessed by nonviolence will express it in the family circle, in dealing with neighbors, in business . . . in dealing with opponents.
