“Forgive them Abba, they know not what they do.” These are the profound words of a dying man, sowing love in the face of hatred and violence. In these times of extreme polarization, when fear, division and hatred dominate our daily experiences, Pace e Bene offers a Lenten Retreat that explores the power of radical Gospel love as a spiritual tool capable of freeing us from this destructive impasse.

During this retreat participants will reflect together on the creative nonviolent ways Jesus invited his followers to respond to the violence of their day and how these teachings may inform our understanding and practice of nonviolence today. Participants will also have an opportunity to examine spiritual practices aimed at cultivating our capacity for radical nonviolent Love.

This four-hour retreat will include a morning session (10am - 12pm) and an afternoon session (1pm - 3pm). The morning session will focus on Gospel Nonviolence and unpack other examples born out of this tradition. The afternoon session will be devoted to the spiritual principles essential to living nonviolence, as well as the function of love as a redemptive and transformative spiritual force.

This virtual retreat will incorporate prayer, journaling , discussion, and interactive exercises. Participants need to have a way to take notes and journal.
