Pilgrimage for Peace 2019 Sunday, April 28, 2019 2:00 p.m.

Little Rock, AR is a regular part of the Campaign Nonviolence Week of Actions and they are still keeping up their work for nonviolence throughout the year. The 6th annual Pilgrimage for Peace 2019, organized by a coalition of ecumenical faith and community organizations, will be held on Sunday, April 28th at 2 p.m. Walkers will gather in the circle outside Heifer International, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, where the walk begins. Participants will pass the Clinton Presidential Library and the River Market and cross the Junction Bridge to the Beacon of Peace and Hope, located at 120 Riverfront Drive, North Little Rock.

At the Beacon, walkers and others will gather for a Remembrance Service at 3 p.m. to “mourn the violence committed in our community, nation, and world, and to walk together as active peacemakers.” The ecumenical service will be led by young people offering prayers, reflections from literature and scriptures, songs, and the reading of names of homicide victims in Pulaski County in the past year.

All ages are welcome. Plenty of parking available in the area between the Beacon of Peace and Hope and the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum. Seating will be available and bottled water will be provided.
