Pax Christi West MI in collaboration with the Dominican Sisters~Grand Rapids are participating in 30+ Days of Peace, with prayers, actions, speakers from Sept. 1 to Oct. 5, 2019. This project includes a monthly calendar with prayers and reflections with a different theme each week. It encourages participants to reflect and act for peace and nonviolence in their daily lives. Speakers: Mary Hanna and Kim Redigan of the Meta Peace Team, on Sunday, Sept. 15, who will speak about their deployment with the META Peace Team at the Border and their personal experience of human rights monitoring and unarmed civilian accompaniment. Time 1-3 PM at the Dominican Center Marywood, 2025 E. Fulton St. Grand Rapids, MI 49503. On Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019, there will be Peace Walk in the St. Francis of Assisi Sculpture Garden on the front lawn of Dominican Sisters, Grand Rapids (MI) at Marywood from 1-1:45 pm. Following the walk is an Interfaith Prayer Service, with speakers representing several different faith traditions, from 2 to 3 pm at Dominican Chapel at Marywood, East Fulton and Lakeside Drive, to observe the United Nations International Day of Peace. These two events are a collaboration of the Institute for Global Education (IGE~ Grand Rapids, MI) Dominican Sisters~ Grand Rapids, Instruments of Hope and Pax Christi West Michigan.
