HIRING A COORDINATOR OF EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

APPLICATION PROCESS CLOSED

Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service is a non-profit organization working to foster a just and peaceful world through nonviolence education, community-building, and action. For over 30 years we have been leading nonviolence trainings, publishing books, and organizing actions for a nonviolent world. We are currently seeking to contract with someone passionate and knowledgeable about nonviolence to help organize and schedule our various online (and occasional in-person) trainings and workshops.

We prefer applicants to be based in the United States, though qualified international candidates may be considered.

Applicants must be available for weekly online staff meetings and have the ability to work remotely and independently.

Position Purpose: To coordinate Pace e Bene’s nonviolence education and training programs.

Hours/Pay: This is a part-time independent contractor position to be renewed annually upon evaluation. It starts at 10 hours/week at $20.00/hour. There is a possibility for the hours to be expanded at a later date, depending on funding. No other benefits or compensation are available at this time and as a contractor no taxes will be withheld from paychecks.

A note about the hours:  We at Pace e Bene are very flexible with the hours you work and we realize that for only 10 hours a week, you’ll likely have other job commitments outside of this position.  Your main goal will be to accomplish the tasks needed for that week, so some weeks might have less than 10 hours and other weeks might be a bit more depending on the needs of the position.  It will be up to you to figure out what works best for you and the organization as a whole.

Position requirements and responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our lead trainer, Rivera Sun, to coordinate and organize trainings and workshops that fit within the Pace e Bene mission throughout the year.

  • Foster participation in Pace e Bene trainings, both in total number of participants, and their diversity in age, race, gender, and background.

  • Provide support for groups and individuals looking for guidance on nonviolence education.

  • Help identify new trainers and get them acquainted with Pace e Bene.

  • Provide support for our online events as needed.

  • Write a short weekly email that Pace e Bene can send out to announce their events each week on Wednesdays.

  • Work with staff to design a series of pre-recorded trainings.

  • Join weekly staff meetings.

Important Position Skills:

  • Good communication skills.

  • Independently motivated and organized. You’ll be working from home, but doing a lot of phone, email, and zoom conversations.

  • Ability to collaborate with others on our small team.

  • Strong commitment to the practice of nonviolence.

  • Experience and familiarity working in the field of nonviolence is a plus.

Timing: The start date is flexible, though we hope to have someone start by the summer of 2023.
