There’s plenty of work to do to build peace and nonviolence in the US right now, but it’s also important to celebrate each other’s victories. Pax Christi Metro DC-Baltimore is a longtime supporter of Campaign Nonviolence, and next week they’re putting together an online celebration to which you’re invited.

Each year for the past 13 years, Pax Christi Metro DC-Baltimore has honored a local organizer with their Peacemaker of the Year Award Ceremony. This year, the pandemic has moved the celebration online, giving people across the country the opportunity to join in recognizing achievements in peacebuilding work. The ceremony will take place Saturday November 7 at 7 pm EST on Zoom, and all are welcome, so invite a friend to join you in sharing in this success.

The 2020 award winner is Malachy Kilbride, Executive Director of the National Campaign for a Peace Tax Fund and longtime peace activist. Pax Christi Metro DC has put together a wonderful lineup of speakers including Mairead Maguire, winner of the 1976 Nobel Peace Prize, and Marie Dennis of Pax Christi International.

Register here by November 6 at noon EST. This online event is free and open to everyone.
