Pilgrimage to Assisi
By Kelly Richey, one of the participants who journeyed with Pace e Bene on the recent Peace and Nonviolence Pilgrimage to Assisi, Italy
Greetings! I’m excited to share the following page I created with highlights from the Pace e Bene Peace and Nonviolence Pilgrimage to Assisi, June 23-30, 2019, led by Rev. John Dear and Ken Butigan. This pilgrimage invited each of us to study the life of St. Francis of Assisi, pray for peace, build community, deepen our commitment to Gospel nonviolence for the peace work ahead, and celebrate Pace e Bene on its 30th Anniversary.
Through my healing-arts practice, as a spiritual director, life coach, and writing facilitator, I work with people to develop daily self-care practices, that bring healing and wholeness to their lives. During this pilgrimage, I learned that the practice of nonviolence starts by practicing nonviolence with ourselves, and then, with those around us. This takeaway has had a tremendous impact on the work I am called to do. The friendships and community built during this pilgrimage inspired me and renewed my hope that a nonviolent world IS possible— one act, one person, one dream... at a time.
I invite you to visit the following link, enjoy the photos, listen to the teachings, and relive with us, the Pace e Bene Peace and Nonviolence Pilgrimage to Assisi.
