Tiffin, Ohio Becomes Nonviolent Tiffin

Organizers in Tiffin, Ohio are ringing in the new year by celebrating their efforts to become the 51st city to join the Campaign Nonviolence Nonviolent Cities Project. They will officially launch as a nonviolent city on April 13, 2018 with an art exhibit titled “Do You See Me?”

In a recent article for the Tiffin Advertiser-Tribune, Nicole Walby writes:

“It started in Carbondale, Illinois, and now a local group is working to make Tiffin the 51st nonviolent city through the Nonviolence Cities Campaign.

Over the past year, city government officials, judges, city council members, social workers, professors, school staff, churches and concerned citizens have met during seven meetings to share the challenges and privileges facing the world.

According to Sister Paulette Schroeder — a member of the campaign committee — said the committee chose to focus on “high risk” students and those in recovery as the target audience to relate their efforts of nonviolence towards.”
