Track Two: Applications of Creative Nonviolence

Track Two includes 4 in-depth workshops that focus on key dimensions of creative nonviolence and their application to concrete situations. These workshops are for anyone interested in deepening their nonviolence journey. There are no prerequisites to attend these trainings, though they build on basic concepts and tools learned in Track One trainings. The trainings are meant to compliment each other. There is no specific order that they need to be taken in, and one can attend one or all of them.

Practicing Nonviolence in Your Everyday Life

In this 1-day workshop participants will learn and practice concrete communication and nonviolence skills that can be used in their daily life in a variety of contexts, with partners, family, and colleagues, etc.

Transforming Us vs. Them Thinking and Doing

In this workshop participants will explore ways to transform the dynamic of us vs. them that is strongly evident in the increased polarization within the religious, political, and cultural landscape of society. Transforming us vs. them is a fundamental principle and attitude for the nonviolent practitioner.

Nonviolent Action Training

In this in-depth workshop, participants will learn practical tools and processes to take nonviolent action for peace and justice in their community and the wider society.

The Engage Social Movement Training

In this workshop participants will analyze why and how social movements for societal transformation succeed. This workshop is especially designed for organizations and members of social movements. Participants will explore ways to build successful movement strategies.
