In full bloom
this desert Rose
four score years and ten
speaks truth petals across continents
gardens the spirituality of nonviolence
through the generations.
-Peter Ediger
Franciscan Sister Rosemary Lynch, who through the decades has been an instrument of peace nurturing reverence and love for all things living, not only in the Southwest US desert where she grew up but in diverse places around the world, celebrated her 90th birthday March 18, 2007.
One of the Co-founders of Pace e Bene, Sister Rosemary has lectured and led retreats on nonviolence in many communities across the country and internationally, and together with Sister Mary Litell, developed Pace e Bene’s “Peace Grows” Curriculum. Two years ago we gave her the honorary designation of “Pace e Bene Elder.”
A special dinner and program celebrating Sister Rosemary will be held on Saturday evening May 12, in conjunction with a meeting of the Pace e Bene Staff, Board and Associates in Las Vegas on that weekend.
Friends of Sister Rosemary in the Las Vegas area, or beyond, are invited to come join in this celebration. Reservations for the occasion may be made by calling the Las Vegas office, 702-648-2281, by May 4. The dinner will be at 6:30 pm at the St James Catholic Church, 1920 N Martin Luther King Blvd.
Persons unable to attend but interested in participating in this celebration are encouraged to send letters which we will compile and present to her, and/or send a special contribution to Pace e Bene in her honor.
