Pace e Bene leads two day training for Chicago Archdiocese

On May 29-30, Pace e Bene staff-person Ken Butigan led a two-day Theological Intensive entitled “Striving to Preserve the Unity of the Spirit” for the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago’s Office for Catechesis and Youth Ministry.

Forty-five Directors of Religious Education, pastoral team members, and youth ministers attended the interactive workshop based on Pace e Bene’s nonviolence imagetraining process.

This theological intensive offered a vision and toolbox for nonviolent solutions to the conflicts in the participants’ lives, parishes, and world. They gained practical skills for putting Gospel Nonviolence into practice—skills designed to transform their everyday challenges into creative occasions for the development of just and peaceful
communities.

Held at the University of St. Mary of the Lake outside of Chicago, this workshop was crafted to meet the ongoing formation needs of both experienced and new catechetical leaders.

This theological intensive integrated scriptural prayer and music, formal presentations, large group discussions, small group interaction, quiet time for reflection and meditation, conversations with colleagues, and relaxation.
