Pace e Bene Update

Pace e Bene Joins in Ecumenical Advocacy Days

March 13-16 Pace e Bene participated in the seventh annual Ecumenical Advocacy Days, a national gathering of Christians working for justice and peace.

Christians from many denominations and from throughout the United States convened for four days in the greater Washington, DC area to explore how to bring about a world with, as this year’s theme stressed, “Enough for All Creation.”

Faith-based advocates and activists learned about the connections between climate change, migration, and poverty in the U.S. and around the world.

Together they discussed the abundance of our world and how it can be allocated in a way that is fair and just for all creation.

As the organizers put it, “We live in an increasingly interconnected world and have an enormous impact on each other and creation. As the earth’s temperature rises we see a strain on resources. Food, while plentiful for some, is desperately scarce for others. Lack of clean water makes children sick and burdens women. Global warming and growing resource deprivation forces some people to migrate and others to wage war over food, water and oil. Our increasingly co-dependent economies lift a few individuals up to great heights while keeping others living lives of destitution.”

Pace e Bene connected with many old and new friends at this gathering of communities, organizations, and individuals committed to fostering a just and peaceful world.
