With heavy hearts we are called as Christians to bear
our grief and confess our participation,
by our actions or by our silence and inaction,
in the culture of violence, killing and war.

With hearts open, we ask for mercy
and forgiveness, and for the strength and love
necessary to be transformed into
true instruments of peace
