From Violence to Wholeness: The Spiritual Practice of Nonviolence
A Ten Week Study Beginning November 1, 2006
Gathering Wednesdays 6:30 - 8:30PM
at South Congregational Church in Concord
Facilitated by
L.R. Berger, NE Associate of Pace Bene Nonviolence Service
and Karen Barker, Nonviolence Trainer, Fellowship of Reconciliation
The escalating violence in our daily culture and world calls us to understand
the nature and roots of violence, and to learn what Gandhi called “another
way.” This nonviolence study explores the power of nonviolence principles
and practices as a tool for personal and social transformation. All are
welcome—those who are just beginning to wonder, “what is nonviolence?”
—as well as those who have already been living into the life of nonviolence
and want to deepen their vision and practice with others.
This program was developed by Pace e Bene (“peace and all good”)
Nonviolence Service, an international nonviolence education program. The
study offers nonviolence skills and teachings through readings, stories,
music, art, poems, films, and individual and small group reflection time. It is
an opportunity to develop the skills and guiding principles necessary to cocreate what Martin Luther King, Jr. named “beloved community.”
