Originally founded by the Franciscan Friars of California, Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service has led 600 workshops for 25,000 people in the vision and tools of active and creative nonviolence for personal and social change. Its small group study programs use three different curricula From Violence To Wholeness; Engage: Exploring Nonviolent Living; and Traveling With the Turtle. It also leads one-day, weekend and three introductory workshops, facilitator trainings and a Training for Trainers program.
Numerous organizations have used or adapted Pace e Bene’s programming, including the Episcopal Peace Fellowship, Methodist Federation for Social Action, Lutheran Peace Fellowship, and Fellowship of Reconciliation. See Pace e Bene’s website.
