Annual Sacred Peace Walk in Nevada Desert Ends

 To celebrate the end of the Christian season of Lent, Nevada Desert Experience (NDEorganized an Easter mass at the edge of the Nevada Test Site. This was the 27th year NDE has hosted prayers for peace at the Test Site. Seven men and twelve women finished their prayer-action today by crossing over the white line on Mercury Highway at 11:15 this morning.

Several of the prayer-activists had been arrested at Creech Air Force Base three days earlier at the end of a 10-day vigil for peace in opposition to drone warfare.

NDE organizes Interfaith Resistance to Nuclear Weapons each year, with retreats, workshops and the week-long annual Sacred Peace Walk each Spring since 1995 (under various names).

The men and women who were arrested this morning and given $632 citations were:
