A Force More Powerful is a film series about how ordinary people throughout the world have taken up creative nonviolent struggles for human rights and prevailed. As we witness the astonishing 21st century movements of our own time build on these 20th century triumphs, A Force More Powerful supports our understanding of what nonviolence is and how it operates.
“The greatest misconception about conflict is that violence is the ultimate and sole form of power.”
The first film in the series, We Were Warriors, describes the nonviolence training, discipline, and dedication of the students participating in the Nashville, Tennessee lunch counter sit-ins of the Southern Freedom Movement.
