Engaging Our Conflicts: An Exploration of Nonviolent Peacemaking

This much anticipated module was developed by Pace e Bene Nonviolence Service, the international leader in this work. The eight-session module explores the power and potential of nonviolent peacemaking in our lives and in the world. Participants will learn about nonviolence and how to apply it in real issues that they are interested in taking action on. Engaging Our Conflicts sessions will provide participants a strong understanding of and commitment to the practice of nonviolent peacemaking and will cultivate a deeper communal practice in the group culminating in a peacemaking activity they plan and engage in. The module consists of eight, 2 ½ hours sessions covering the following topics:

  • Introduction and overview of violence and nonviolence
  • The Dynamics of Nonviolent Peacemaking
  • Interpersonal Nonviolence: Tools for Transforming Conflicts
  • Nurturing Nonviolent Church Communities: Journeying Together
  • Grappling with Structural/Institutional/Cultural Violence
  • Creating a Group Nonviolent Activity/Action

Registration for the module is $100 (see over). After you register with JustFaith Ministries, you will receive an order form for the book(s). Additional costs include a per person cost of $25 for books

Jack Jezreel, Executive Director of JustFaith Ministries writes about Engaging Our Conflicts:
“There is nothing more critical for the survival of the planet than the teaching, learning, experiencing, practicing, preaching, demonstration and living the principles of nonviolence. This program, developed by the best trainers and practitioners in the business, is not about heady discussions and philosophizing. It is about the real transformation in relationships that must take place in order to continue living together on the planet.
What a package! This module uses all the best tools for transformation: excellent readings, popular education exercises, discussion, journaling, and prayer, all moving toward actually planning a group nonviolent action based on the lessons learned. The process engages participants in the critical work of making peace, creating peace in conflict, using nonviolence in the fullest spectrum, as tool, as tactic, as discipline and as prayer.
JustFaith Ministries is pleased with this opportunity to collaborate with Pace e Bene on this special adaptation of the successful nonviolence program Engage: Exploring Nonviolent Living. The process and the content are ideally suited for JustFaith groups: prayerful, serious, challenging and transformative.”
