Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd called Dietrich Bonhoeffer “without doubt, the man I admire most in the history of the twentieth century”.
Bonhoeffer was an amazing theologian and voice for peace. Yet Rudd’s $100 BILLION (!) long-term military spending plan reveals the Prime Minister has forgotten his hero and is in need of some sister and brothers to jog his memory. Memory of the prophetic hero he claims. Memory of the prophetic faith in Christ Jesus who taught “love your enemies” that he professes.
And that’s what we, The Bonhoeffer 4 will be doing during the U.S./Australian Talisman Saber Wargames.
As Bonhoeffer put it,
“Christianity stands or falls with its revolutionary protest against violence, arbitrariness and pride of power and with its plea for the weak… Christians should give more offense, shock the world far more, than they are doing now.”
