My ego is powerful; my faults are many; and my blindness to the combination of the two often seems overwhelming. Gentleness with myself is the first step; however, I know too much about good actions and good thoughts to fall back to this stance. Yes, I can do better next time. Perhaps, I will. I know that the past can be healed by my actions today and the next.</p> <p>I saved a cockroach today from sudden death in my dog's jaws. I spoke gently yesterday to people living in poverty.
