Pace e Bene is collaborating with Hip Hop Caucus on a multi-year project for building nonviolent change. As part of its work, Hip Hop Caucus is taking steps to help shape a new approach to urban policy in America as the Obama administration moves forward. As Hip Hop Caucus puts it:
“President Obama has stated many times that he is committed to leading a new approach to improving America’s cities, particularly high-poverty neighborhoods and inner-cities. The Obama-Biden White House has put forth an Urban Policy Agenda, which includes creating the first ever White House Office on Urban Policy. The Hip Hop Caucus will be working closely with the White House Office on Urban Policy to help ensure that their approach to improving our cities is informed by our communities’ experiences. We have put together the survey below and are asking you to rate the importance of each of the nine areas that the administration has outlined in their urban policy agenda. We also ask what policies and programs you think are missing from the White House agenda. We will take your feedback directly to the White House Office on Urban Policy and also share it with Members of Congress. The language from this survey is taken directly from The Urban Policy Agenda posted on WhiteHouse.gov.
